He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Idaho, and his Masters of Science in Project Management from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. He has served on university advisory boards and participated in numerous industry presentations and panel discussions on future developments in the mining industry. Dean is a registered Professional Engineer (PE) and Project Management Professional (PMP)
Dean, and his very understanding wife, Maria (of 28 years), have enjoyed the nomadic opportunity a mining career provides and have lived in the US, Canada, Indonesia and Peru. They have two sons age 21 and 25. Dean enjoys flying, skiing, woodworking, fly fishing and ice hockey. Dean’s current project is building an experimental airplane.
