Spencer Rascoff is the co-founder of Pacaso, a real estate platform he created to democratize ownership of a second home. He is also the co-founder of leading real estate platform, Zillow (2005) and the internet travel company, Hotwire (1999).
Rascoff served as Zillow’s CEO for more than a decade, previously holding the roles of chief operating officer, chief marketing officer, and chief financial officer. Passionate about company culture, he created a lasting culture at Zillow that earned recognition from outlets like Glassdoor, The Seattle Times, and Fortune’s “Best Places to Work" list.
Before his consumer web career, Rascoff worked in investment banking at Goldman Sachs and in private equity at TPG Capital.
Rascoff is also the New York Times bestselling author of Zillow Talk: Rewriting the Rules of Real Estate, which he wrote in 2015.
Today, he is a regular angel investor and advisor to various venture capital firms, and he sits on the board of Palantir, a software company specializing in big data analytics. He also founded the news site, dot.LA, which is focused on the Los Angeles startup scene.
Rascoff is part of the Young Presidents’ Organization, and he has served as a visiting executive professor at Harvard Business School. He earned his B.A. at Harvard University.
Currently, he resides in Los Angeles with his family.
