Kenneth Thompson Biography and Net Worth

Kenneth E. Thompson is Verisk’s chief legal officer. He provides leadership for all legal aspects of the business, as well as corporate governance, enterprise risk and compliance, internal audit, and facilities.

Blending his business expertise with years of legal experience, Ken assists the company and its Board of Directors in driving Verisk’s strategy forward. He helps ensure that Verisk pursues all the best practices of a modern, well-run public company to maximize performance and ensure transparency.

Ken has managed many major mergers and acquisitions outside the property/casualty arena. He has also advised public companies on their securities law responsibilities (including those under Sarbanes-Oxley) and on the implementation of anti-takeover defensive strategies.

Ken joined Verisk's ISO subsidiary as senior vice president and general counsel in 2006 where he oversaw corporate governance during Verisk's IPO, and was promoted to chief legal officer in 2011.

Before joining Verisk, Ken practiced law at McCarter & English, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, securities law, corporate finance, and general corporate counseling. From 2000 to 2004, he taught mergers and acquisitions at Seton Hall Law School, where he was an adjunct professor of law.

Ken has been listed in Super Lawyers and the Chambers Global Guide, an international directory of top lawyers, and has spoken at numerous legal conferences and events.

Ken holds a JD from Boston University School of Law and a BA from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he graduated cum laude.
