Matthew Wallach is the co-founder and a current board member of Veeva Systems, one of the world’s leading cloud companies in the life sciences industry.
Wallach co-founded Veeva in 2007, and he has served in various executive roles throughout the company since its inception. From 2013 until his retirement in 2019, Wallach was Veeva’s president, responsible for all strategy, alliances, and business development at the company. While president, Wallach oversaw Veeva’s IPO and growth towards a $1 billion revenue run rate.
Before founding Veeva, Wallach held various executive roles at smaller technology companies. Directly prior to his tenure with Veeva, Wallach was the chief marketing officer for Health Market Science, a supplier of healthcare data solutions. Throughout 2004, he served as the vice president of marketing and product management for IntelliChem, and from 1998 to 2003 he worked as a general manager of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology at Siebel Systems, where he was responsible for both the Siebel Pharma and Siebel Clinical product lines.
During his time with Siebel, Wallach worked to build the company’s global division, which grew to over $140 million under his leadership. At one point, nearly half of all the pharmaceutical sales reps in the world used the products created during Wallach’s tenure at Siebel.
Wallach began his career at Booz & Company, where he was a lead consultant focusing on the chemicals and pharmaceuticals industries.
In 2007, Wallach was named to the “PharmaVOICE 100” list for his contribution to the life sciences industry. He’s currently a minority owner of the Philadelphia Union, an American professional soccer club in Philadelphia.
Wallach earned his B.A. in economics from Yale University and his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.
