Jon Roitman is executive vice president and chief operations officer for United. Jon is responsible for all airports, flight operations, technical operations, network operations and United Ground Express, as well as safety across United’s global network. Most recently Jon was senior vice president of airport and network operations for United, overseeing worldwide airport operations as well as United’s Network Operations Center in Chicago.
Prior to that, Jon served as vice president of the Newark and Cleveland hubs, overseeing all aspects of the operation for both locations. Jon began his aviation career at Continental Airlines, starting in 1997 as director of design and construction in the Corporate Real Estate group. He subsequently held positions of increasing responsibility.
Before joining Continental, Jon was the manager of business development for BWAB Incorporated, a real estate development and oil and gas production firm located in Denver, Colorado. Jon is a United States Army veteran and resigned from active duty as a field artillery captain.
Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an MBA in business, real estate and construction management from the University of Denver. He is married to Megan Meighan and has a son (Ari), a daughter (Lucy) and two stepsons (Aidan and Liam).
