Mr. MacLean was named President and Chief Operating Officer in June 2008, following three years as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is responsible for all insurance operations, including Personal Insurance, Business Insurance, and Financial, Professional & International Insurance, including the company’s run off businesses. He is also responsible for Claim Services, including claim service delivery and technical claim results.
From 2002 to 2005, Mr. MacLean was Executive Vice President, Claim Services and before that, 1999 to 2002, he served as President of Select Accounts. Previously, he served in a number of senior financial roles after joining Travelers in 1988, following his experience as audit manager at Peat Marwick (now KPMG LLP).
