Julie DeMuesy net worth and biography

Julie DeMuesy Biography and Net Worth

Throughout her career, Julie has seen Human Resources evolve from a discipline that was largely transactional into one that is an important strategic function.

By that she means Human Resources at one time was focused on benefits, policies and making sure people were paid. Today, she sees HR as the driver of comprehensive and holistic people strategies. This is especially critical in today’s workplace, where the demographic landscape has changed. It’s more multigenerational than ever, with Baby Boomers, Millennials, Gen Xers and Gen Zers working alongside one another. Their priorities, values and lifestyles differ.

Julie believes this presents opportunities for her and her team to further expand the role of Human Resources, enabling it to serve as the heartbeat of the organization empowered to build a personality and culture that is inclusive and diverse. Competitive pay and benefits remain as important as ever, but so does the overall experience of working for ScottsMiracle-Gro. That differentiation is a reason people want to be part of the company.

Julie got into Human Resources by happenstance. She began paralegal studies with the intent of becoming a lawyer. But as she got more into the law, she gravitated toward business and working with people. Business skills and savvy are transferable into HR.

Throughout her career, she has held HR positions with increasing responsibility, starting with Abbott Laboratories, Ross Products Division, as an HR generalist in 1996. She is in her second stint with ScottsMiracle-Gro, initially working from 2000 to 2006 in a director role. Given her ultimate goal was to lead the entire HR function, she left ScottsMiracle-Gro to work with a number of companies to broaden her experiences and skills. Among them were Huntington National Bank and Elmer’s Products before returning to ScottsMiracle-Gro in 2016.

Julie enjoys spending time with her husband, an educator of children with special needs, and her two children and two grandchildren. She’s also a golfer and a self-proclaimed avid reader.
