Carol Hibbard is senior vice president and controller for The Boeing Company, the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners, defense, space and security systems, and provider of global services.
In this role, Hibbard leads Financial Accounting and Government Accounting, which ensure timely, accurate financial information; develop effective internal controls; provide accounting policy guidance; and work with regulators to inform new accounting rules. She oversees the Finance Shared Services, Enterprise Rates and Overhead Management, Cost and Financial Structure Management, and Enterprise Capital Management teams, along with the Actuarial team, which supports the design of pension and retiree medical plans while ensuring their funding. Additionally, she leads the Compliance Risk Management Board in partnership with the Law Department to ensure enterprise-wide compliance.
Hibbard is the company’s Principal Accounting Officer and ensures the company’s financial reporting, disclosures and regulatory compliance are complete, timely and transparent.
Carol most recently served as vice president of Finance and chief financial officer of Boeing Defense, Space & Security Segment (BDS). BDS specializes in innovative and capability-driven solutions to meet the needs of defense, government, space, intelligence and security customers in the United States and around the world. Based out of Arlington, Va., she led all BDS financial activities.
Previously, Carol was the BDS controller, responsible for all accounting, financial analysis & compliance activities. Carol has also served as vice president and chief financial officer of Boeing’s former Engineering, Operations & Technology organization. With over 20 years of Boeing experience, her other roles include director of BDS Financial Planning & Analysis, director of Financial Operations supporting the Corporate Controller and executive and management roles on defense programs.
Prior to joining Boeing, Carol was an Operations Research Analyst with the Department of Defense in Washington, DC, supporting the United States Navy, United States Air Force and National Reconnaissance Organization.
Carol received a Master of Business Administration degree from Virginia Polytechnic University and a bachelor’s degree in statistics from the University of Pittsburgh. In 2012 she was selected as an Eisenhower Fellow where she had the opportunity to participate in a leadership exchange program in Europe. Carol also serves as an executive champion for Boeing Women Inspiring Leadership.
