Thomas Hill is the founder of Summit Materials, a vertically integrated construction materials company. 

Hill served as president, CEO, and a board member until stepping down in 2020. 

Prior to founding Summit, he spent 28 years with Oldcastle (now CRH Americas), North America’s largest manufacturer of building products and materials. He joined the company in 1980, was named president in 1991, and began serving as CEO in 2000.

Hill has chaired the American Road and Transportation Builders Association, served as treasurer for the National Asphalt Pavement Association and the National Stone Association, and sits on the board of the Wildlife Habitat Council.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and history from Duke University and his M.B.A. from Trinity College in Dublin.
