Godfrey Sullivan is the former CEO of Splunk, a data analysis software company, and Hyperion Solutions, an enterprise performance management software company.
Sullivan served as Splunk’s president and CEO from 2008 until his retirement in 2015. Under his leadership, Splunk’s annual revenue grew from $18 million to $600 million by onboarding more than ten times the number of customers from when he joined the company.
Sullivan also guided the big data visualization company to its 2012 IPO. He served as Splunk’s chairman of the board of directors between 2011 and 2019. While leading Splunk, Sullivan advocated for more women to become part of the company’s leadership team and to hold leadership roles across the technology field.
Prior to Splunk, Sullivan was the CEO of Hyperion Solutions from 2004 until the company’s acquisition by Oracle in 2007 for $3.3 billion. He joined Hyperion Solutions in 2001 as chief operating officer and was a member of the company’s board of directors beginning in 2004.
Earlier in his career, Sullivan also worked for software company, Citrix Systems, architecture and engineering software maker, Autodesk, and Apple, where he worked in marketing, operations and sales for the young computer company.
Since 2019, Sullivan has served as a member of the board of directors of cloud-based communications company, RingCentral. He also serves on the boards of CrowdStrike, ThousandEyes, People.ai, and GitLab Inc. He previously served on the boards of Informatica Corp. and Citrix Systems, Inc.
The software executive has participated in Ride and Tie races for 25 years, a competition where two individuals take turns running and riding a horse.
Sullivan holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Baylor University.
