Eric Schuppenhauer is SoFi’s EVP, Group Business Unit Leader, Borrow. In this role, he oversees the Home Loans, Personal Loans, In-School Student Loans, Student Loan Refinancing and Pricing business units. Eric joined SoFi from Citizens Financial Group where he served as a member of the firm’s executive committee and oversaw all aspects of their Consumer Lending business, including mortgage, home equity, credit card, unsecured, student, operations, strategy, secondary markets, digital/technology, and risk. Prior to Citizens, Eric led the mortgage originations and servicing businesses at Capital One, and held senior leadership roles at JPMorgan Chase, including leading the company’s mortgage originations and servicing businesses, and as their mortgage CFO. Eric’s extensive experience also includes leadership roles at Fannie Mae, Credit Suisse, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and KPMG.
Eric has held numerous volunteer board positions during his career including serving as Chairman of the Housing Policy Council, on the Mortgage Bankers’ Association’s Residential Board of Governors, and as President of Habitat for Humanity of South Collin County. Eric earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce: Accounting from the University of Virginia and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is married, has two children, and is based in Dallas, Texas.
