Grusd joined the company in 2018, with responsibilities including overseeing content, partnerships, corporate development, and global strategy. His primary role is to expand Snap’s global footprint and relationships.
Grusd has held leadership roles within some of the world's most innovative companies and organizations. Previously, he served as global head of news and information for Oath Inc. (now Verizon Media). During that tenure, he was CEO of HuffPost and headed up many of the company’s online brands, such as Yahoo News, Yahoo’s homepage, and AOL’s homepage.
Prior to that, Grusd worked at Spotify’s as global head of corporate development and the company’s general counsel. He also served as chief strategy and business development officer for AOL and was a member of Google’s executive team for business in the Americas.
Grusd is also the co-founder of Shake, a legal technology startup. The company’s primary product is the Shake app, which offers people the ability to create, sign and send legally binding agreements through their mobile devices. The company was acquired by Legal Shield in 2015.
Grusd currently sits on SoulCycle’s board of directors, teaches at Columbia Business School as an adjunct professor, and serves on the University of Chicago Law School advisory council. He previously sat on Newsela’s board of directors.
He has garnered numerous accolades throughout his career. Business Insider has thrice recognized him as one of the most influential people in New York’s technology ecosystem, and he has also been listed among the top five most powerful technology lawyers by Fortune.
He holds a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
