Dave Shirk is president of Sabre Travel Solutions. He oversees all aspects of the company’s airline and agency-focused business segments including, product management, global product development, sales and account management, professional services and delivery, as well as strategy. Travel Solutions was formed in 2018 to unify the Travel Network and Airline Solutions businesses. Recently, the organization further realigned to enable Sabre to more quickly deliver on its promise to retail, distribute and fulfill travel by serving airline, agency and corporate customers, along with end-to-end suppliers across the travel ecosystem.
Dave joined Sabre in June 2017 as president of Airline Solutions, bringing 28 years of technology experience to the organization. After a successful turn as president of Sabre’s Airline Solutions business, Dave was promoted to lead the Travel Solutions organization in July 2018. He is a capable and visionary leader who, in addition to his knowledge of application development and the airline industry, is passionate about leveraging data & analytics to transform the industry and solidifying Sabre’s position as the technology platform at the center of the business of travel.
Prior to joining Sabre, Dave drove key digital solution transformations for customers across the financial services, healthcare, energy, travel and airline industries. He oversaw innovation and portfolio strategy at Kony, Inc., leading the mobile application development company to a leadership position recognized by all major technology industry analysts. Dave also served as general manager and vice president at Computer Services Corp. (CSC), where he led the company’s $2 billion software, services, and business process outsourcing division and contributed to the successful business turnaround resulting in the tripling of net income and portfolio rationalization of over 100 product lines. Prior to CSC, Dave held senior executive positions at HP, Siemens, UGS, Vignette, Novell and Oracle.
A proud graduate of The Ohio State University, Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management. Dave enjoys auto racing, snowboarding and spending time traveling with his wife and son. He and his wife are strong advocates of the special needs community.
