Nick joined Ryan Specialty with the merger of All Risks, Ltd. in September 2020. Nick served as CEO of All Risks for over two decades, leading the firm to become the 4th largest wholesale insurance broker in the United States, delivering comprehensive specialty commercial and personal lines solutions to retail agents and brokers nationwide. At the time of the merger, All Risks was on target to handle $2.6 billion in premiums in 2020 and employed over 850 professionals in 27 locations.
Nick joined All Risks in 1987 and was promoted to CEO by 1999. Over the course of his career, he has served on the boards of the Independent Insurance Agents of Baltimore, the Independent Insurance Agents of Maryland, National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices, and as President of the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (2002-2003).
Nick has lectured and served on panels at numerous industry schools and conferences including the Society for Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters, the National Risk Retention Association, the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines offices, Lloyd’s of London and at many regional events.
He has also served on the Board of Directors of Maryland Business for Responsive Government, the Board of Trustees of the Gilman School in Baltimore, Maryland, the Board of Trustees of the Bryn Mawr School of Baltimore, Maryland and the Advisory Board of the Johns Hopkins University, School of Advanced International Studies School in Bologna, Italy.
