Chris Carvalho is a seasoned executive who has helped set strategy, enabled disruptive revenue growth, and maintained rigorous operational focus as an executive team member at some of the fastest growing (Kabam) and most iconic (Lucasfilm) companies in the world. He is currently an advisor, board member, and angel investor in several startups and is especially passionate about helping companies at the intersection of technology and entertainment.
He spent four years as Kabam’s Chief Operating Officer, which grew during his tenure from a nascent state of 25 people above a dim sum restaurant to over $360M in revenue and 700+ employees. It is currently valued at over $1 billion. In 2013, Kabam was the fastest growing media and entertainment company in the Bay Area and CNBC named Kabam one of the 50 most disruptive companies.
Chris also spent almost ten years at Lucasfilm where he headed up Business Development for all of the Lucas companies and ran the company’s internet division and its crown jewel, StarWars.com. In 2007, Time Magazine rated StarWars.com as one of the top fifty websites. He had creative, operational and P&L responsibility for the online division and spearheaded the growth of StarWars.com from a purely marketing site, with no revenue, into a profitable business.
Chris is currently a board member at Performance Lab, a B2B wearables technology startup, and MaxPlay, a gaming tools and technology company.
