Eugene S. Stark is a financial executive with over 20 years of experience in directing the financial and administrative functions of investment management organizations. He has broad experience in financial management, SEC reporting and compliance; strategic and financial planning; expense, capital and risk management; fund administration; due diligence; acquisition analysis; and integration activities.


Prior to joining Prospect, Eugene has served as the Principal Financial Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Vice President of Administration at General American Investors Company, Inc. where he is responsible for operations, compliance, and financial functions. From January to April of 2005, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Prospect Energy Corporation, prior to which he worked at Prudential Financial, Inc between 1987 and 2004. His many positions within Prudential include ten years as Vice President and Fund Treasurer of Prudential Mutual Funds, where he was responsible for financial, SEC and Board of Directors reporting for 70 investment companies with $45 billion of assets under management. Eugene’s other roles at Prudential include four years as Senior Vice President of Finance of Prudential Investments, an investment product operating unit with $90 billion of assets under management and two years as Vice President of Finance of Prudential Amenities. In addition to his appointment to the Audit Committee and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of Prospect, Eugene is also a member of Mount Saint Mary Academy’s Finance Committee.


Eugene is a Certified Public Accountant. He received his BS, cum laude, from Rider University, and his MBA from Rutgers Business School.
