From July 2003 until May 2006, he served as CFO of Aspen Technology, Inc. (NYSE: AZPN), a provider of supply chain management software and professional services. Mr. Kane also served as President and CEO of Corechange, Inc. (acquired by Open Text Corp.); and CFO of Informix Software (acquired by IBM). He has also served in financial executive positions at Stratus Computer, Prime Computer and Deloitte.
Mr. Kane also served as a Board member and the Audit Committee Chairman of Carbonite (CARB) (acquired by Open Text); RealPage (RP) (acquired by Thoma Bravo); Demandware (DWRE) (acquired by Salesforce); Click Software (acquired by Salesforce); Applix (APLX) (acquired by IBM); Borland Software (BORL) (acquired by Micro Focus LTD); Netezza Corp (acquired by IBM); and the Hult Global Challenge of the Clinton Global Initiative, of which he was a founding member.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kane has been involved in developing and executing sophisticated financial strategies in globalizing corporations and mergers and acquisitions. He is a frequent speaker and writer on these topics, as well as other international financial topics and social entrepreneurial ventures, and is the coauthor of the book, Learning to Change the World—the Social Impact of One Laptop per Child. Mr. Kane is a certified public accountant and has taught international finance at the business schools of Boston College and Babson College. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's Degree in International Finance from Babson College.
