Camille Burckhart Biography and Net Worth

Camille is the Executive Vice President and Chief Information and Digital Officer for Popular, Inc., Puerto Rico’s leading financial institution with $40 billion in assets and operations in Puerto Rico, the United States and Virgin Islands. Based in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Camille oversees Popular’s technology and digital strategies as well as the Bank’s operations and is responsible for many key innovative services Popular has launched.


Camille Burckhart found her passion in technology when she realized how much it benefits people and the substantial change it can incite in the world. She started her career at Popular under what was then a newly founded division focused on developing an online banking platform for the Bank. Today, Popular’s digital app, Mi Banco, is the top banking platform in Puerto Rico and has been awarded Top Online and Mobile Banking for Puerto Rico and Latin America for 10 consecutive years by Global Finance.


As part of her many achievements, Camille was awarded in 2019 by the American Banker magazine as one of “The Most Powerful Women in Banking NEXT” and for her work in the recovery effort and her leadership on Popular's recovery efforts after Hurricane Maria, she was also selected as one of American Banker's 2018 Digital Banker of the Year finalists. She has also been recognized as one of Caribbean Business’ 40 Under 40 and her team has received multiple awards from the Sales and Marketing Executives (SME).


Camille’s education includes a BA from Boston College with a major in Finance. She is also committed to the wellbeing of the communities we serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Fundación Banco Popular and Nuestra Escuela. She is also an advocate of outreach programs related to technology and development with high schoolers, internship opportunities for university students in Puerto Rico and Capstone projects.
