Dennis Weaver, M.D., MBA, is the Chief Clinical Officer at Oscar Health, where he spearheads new integrations with leading providers and coordinates Oscar’s clinical teams and initiatives to ensure members have access to the highest quality care. Dr. Weaver joined Oscar with over 25 years of experience committed to promoting patient advocacy programs and greater transparency in the industry through his work as a leading health system advisor and as a practicing physician. His responsibilities at Oscar fit his lifelong passion to fulfill the “Quadruple Aim” - improving patient experience of care, improving the health of populations, improving the work life of clinicians and staff, and reducing the per capita cost of health care.
Most recently, Dr. Weaver served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Advisory Board, where he worked with hospitals, health systems, payers, governments and employers on critical health care issues, including value-based care models, optimal payment systems, and innovative technology solutions. Prior to working for the Advisory Board, Dr. Weaver led a project in post-Katrina New Orleans to secure $100 million from the Bush administration and develop 99 new primary care access points for which the community was awarded the NCQA National Quality Award.
Among numerous awards and honors for his work in clinical medicine, medical management, and technology integration, Dr. Weaver is a Certified Physician Executive, Diplomat of the American Board of Medical Management, Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Member of the American College of Physician Executives, and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He received his M.D. from the University of Iowa College of Medicine, and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio. Dr. Weaver also holds a MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis, is a Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and is trained in Flight Surgery at the Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine.
