Patrick Lo is the co-founder, CEO and chairman of Netgear.

During the tech boom of the late 1990s, Lo sensed the importance the Internet would play in transforming the way people would work. He quit his role at Hewlett-Packard in 1996 to launch Netgear with the mission of connecting the world to the Internet. Under his leadership, Netgear has become a leading provider of networking hardware that allows access to wireless technologies such as WiFi, LTE and Ethernet. 

Lo became Netgear’s CEO and chairman of the board of directors in 2002.

He began his career at Hewlett-Packard as an engineer. Between 1982 and 1995, Lo held management positions in product management, marketing and sales in the Asian and North American markets. In his last four years with the technology company, Lo was selected to lead the development of a Unix servers business in Japan. He built the HP division to $200 million in revenue before leaving the company. 

The hardware founder was named Ernst & Young’s National Technology Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006. 

Lo holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Brown University.
