Jeffrey Kodosky is the co-founder of National Instruments Corp., a designer and manufacturer of automated test equipment and virtual instrumentation software. 

He founded the company in 1976 with his partner, James Truchard. Headquartered in Austin, TX, the company provides application software and modular hardware that can be combined with computers, networks, and other devices to create measurement, automation, and embedded systems. 

Kodosky is best known for his invention of LabVIEW, a technology utilized by scientists and engineers worldwide. LabVIEW’s approach to graphical system design was a major breakthrough for the industry, and it was named one of Electronic Design Magazine’s “Top 50 Milestones for the Industry.” Additionally, it has received over 100 awards and accolades both nationally and internationally from major publications like Electronics Weekly, Nasa Tech Briefs, EDN, EE Times, and more. 

He has 68 patents related to LabVIEW, and his invention earned him a spot in the Electronic Design Engineering Hall of Fame. 

Kodosky earned his bachelor’s degree in physics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is passionate about education and opera and has personally supported organizations such as the Austin Lyric Opera, The University of Texas at Austin UTeach program and College of Natural Sciences, and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Board of Trustees.
