Stephen graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and began his career with Santa Clara Produce, Inc. In 1983, he became a founding partner at Mission Produce.
Stephen is the past chairman of the Produce Marketing Association, past director of the Ventura County Agricultural Association, past director of the California Avocado Commission, past president of the Ventura County Taxpayer Association, and past director of Sunkist. He is a member of the Dean’s Advisory Council for Cal Poly, a director to Cal Poly Foundation, and past chairman of the PMA Education Foundation.
