Ed Paul is the Vice President and Corporate Controller at Lockheed Martin Corporation. In this role, Ed leads a team of over 600 professionals responsible for corporate accounting, consolidations, shared services, benefits finance, accounting policy, financial reporting, and Sarbanes Oxley functions, as well as the Company's digital transformation for accounting and finance.
In 2015, Ed led the Corporation’s accounting for the acquisition of Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, maker of the Black Hawk helicopter, in a deal valued at $9B. Prior to Discovery, Ed spent 11 years in Ernst & Young LLP’s audit practice where he achieved the level of Senior Manager. During his tenure at EY, Ed served various National and Multinational clients and worked in EY’s Professional Practice Group where he consulted with audit teams throughout the Mid-Atlantic region on complex accounting and reporting matters.
Ed has extensive experience helping stakeholders plan, execute, account, and report complex business and finance transactions in such areas as revenue recognition, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, investments in debt and equity securities, joint ventures, variable interest entities, derivatives, financial asset transfers, private and public debt and equity offerings, stock-based compensation, pensions, leases, impairments, contingencies, foreign currency, internal controls, and SEC reporting matters.
Ed holds bachelor’s degrees in accounting and urban affairs from Virginia Tech. Ed is a CPA, a member of the AICPA and the Virginia Society of CPAs, and has served on the boards of civic organizations.
