Mr. King was first appointed to the Metropolitan Airports Commission, Minneapolis/Saint Paul in 2011, and has served as its chairman since 2019. He recently retired from Thomson Reuters Corporation, a global provider of intelligent information, where he was managing director of operations, a position he held since January 2020. Mr. King was with Thomson Reuters since 2000 serving in various positions of leadership including managing director in charge of content operations, real estate and procurement; executive vice president, chief information officer; chief operating officer – technology and chief technology officer. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters Corporation, he was senior vice president and chief information officer at Ceridian Corporation (now Ceridian HCM, Inc.). from 1994 to 2000.

Mr. King currently serves as chairman on several local boards including the State of Minnesota Governor’s Blue Ribbon Council on Information Technology, since 2019; and the Minnesota Technology Advisory Committee, since 2011. He is vice chair of the Board of Trustees for American Public Media | Minnesota Public Radio, having served on the board since 2011. Prior board experience includes director, Minnesota Business Partnership, 2013 to 2021; vice-chair and director, the Minneapolis St. Paul Regional Economic Development Partnership, 2011 to 2021. Mr. King was a member of the board of directors of TCF Financial Corporation from 2014 to 2021, and chaired its Technology Committee.

Mr. King received both his Master’s in Education and a Bachelor’s in Mathematics Teacher Education from University of Vermont. He has completed the NACD Cyber-Risk Oversight Program and received the CERT Certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight issued by the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.
