Nima Kelly is the chief legal officer and corporate secretary for GoDaddy. In her role, she oversees mergers and acquisitions, commercial litigation, corporate governance and regulatory affairs, customer-facing and third-party transactional agreements, internal audit, and global policy.
In February 2021, Kelly announced her retirement, though she will remain in her role until a successor has been named.
After joining the company in 2002 as a product manager, Kelly held multiple roles, including vice president of Wild West Domains (GoDaddy’s resale affiliate), vice president of public relations, and executive producer and co-host for Radio GoDaddy. She was also responsible for the launch of the company’s philanthropic arm, GoDaddy Cares, and she is known for masterminding the company’s impressive holiday parties.
In 2012, she took on the role of general counsel. Since then, Kelly has guided GoDaddy on its journey to become a public company, including its IPO in 2015 and the creation of infrastructure for corporate governance, SEC reporting, and other relevant company matters.
She also managed multiple follow-on public offerings and acquisitions, such as the company’s 2017 purchase of Host Europe Group for $1.79 billion. Kelly has committed to building a diverse team, with 65 percent of the legal department being women. She also serves as the executive sponsor for GoDaddy Latinos In Technology.
With her broad range of roles at the company, she has been dubbed “VP of Everything.”
Kelly has extensive HR experience, having practiced labor and employment law earlier in her career, including overseeing the administration and enforcement of collective bargaining agreements with trade unions.
She attended Gettysburg College for her B.A. in political science and the University of Pennsylvania Law School for her J.D.
