As senior executive vice president and chief financial officer of Global Payments, Paul Todd is responsible for all global financial operations including finance, treasury, accounting and tax as well as investor relations and internal audit. Paul served as senior EVP and chief financial officer of TSYS from 2014 until the closing of the company’s merger with Global Payments in September 2019.
Prior to becoming CFO at TSYS, Paul served the company as executive vice president with responsibility for strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and product and marketing. During his time in that role, Paul directed TSYS’ diversification strategy that included the acquisition of TransFirst, NetSpend, and Cayan among others.
Paul joined TSYS in 2008, moving from Synovus Financial Corp, where he was previously the president and chief executive officer of the Synovus Financial Management (FMS) family of companies that included Synovus Securities, Synovus Trust Company, Synovus Insurance Services, Synovus Mortgage Corp., Creative Financial Group and Globalt. From 2002 to 2007, Paul served in various capacities at Synovus to include corporate mergers and acquisitions, and serving as CFO and COO of Synovus FMS. Paul began his career at The Procter & Gamble Company in Finance.
Paul earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Memphis and a master’s degree in business administration from Vanderbilt University. He currently serves on the Board of the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts as well as the Board of the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley. In 2017, Paul was named CFO of the Year by the CFO Roundtable.
