Chinh Chu is the Founder and Senior Managing Director of CC Capital. In this capacity, he has spearheaded the creation of five SPACs since 2016. The first, CF Corp., raised $1.2 billion in order to purchase Fidelity & Guaranty Life. Following the acquisition, Chinh served as Co-Executive Chairman of FGL Holdings. The second SPAC, Collier Creek Holdings, raised $475 million and in August 2020 consummated the acquisition of Utz Brands Holdings, LLC, a leading manufacturer of branded salty snacks, to form Utz Brands (NYSE: UTZ). The third SPAC, CC Neuberger Principal Holdings I, completed a business combination with E2open Holdings, LLC in February 2021. Chinh serves as the Chairman of the Board of E2open (NYSE: ETWO). The fourth SPAC, CC Neuberger Principal Holdings II (NYSE: PRPB), of which Chinh served as CEO & Director, closed a business combination with Getty Images in July 2022. The fifth and most recent, CC Neuberger Principal Holdings III (NYSE: PRPC), raised $403 million for the purpose of acquiring one or more businesses. Chinh also led CC Capital’s effort to take Dun & Bradstreet private in a $7.2 billion deal that closed in February 2019, and its subsequent IPO in July 2020 (NYSE: DNB).
Prior to founding CC Capital, Chinh was a Senior Managing Director, the Co-Head of Private Equity, and a member of the Executive Committee at Blackstone, where he spent 25 years in senior leadership roles.
In addition to Chinh’s role as Chairman of E2open, he has served on the Board of Directors of Dun & Bradstreet since 2019 and CC Neuberger Principal Holdings III since 2021. Chinh previously served on the Board of Directors of NCR Corporation, Stearns Mortgage, Catalent, Kronos, SunGard Data Systems, Freescale Semiconductor, Biomet, Alliant, Celanese Corporation, Nalco, Nycomed, Alliant Insurance Services, the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE), Graham Packaging, AlliedBarton Security Services, Avintiv, BankUnited, HealthMarkets, Inc., DJO Global, Inc., and Stiefel Laboratories.
Before joining Blackstone in 1990, Chinh worked at Salomon Brothers in the Mergers & Acquisitions Department and received a B.S. in Finance from the University of Buffalo.
