Rory Harvey was appointed executive vice president and president, Global Markets on January 2, 2024. In this position, Harvey leads the global regional teams to bring the right vehicles, software, and technologies to customers around the world.
Harvey takes over Global Markets after leading GM sales, service, and marketing across its full portfolio of automotive and connected services brands in North America, including Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, OnStar, ACDelco and GM Genuine Parts.
Prior to that, Harvey led Global Cadillac since September 2020, where he ran the brand’s day-to-day operations. Harvey first joined Cadillac in March 2018 as vice president, Cadillac North America Sales, Service and Marketing.
Before joining GM, Harvey held the position of chairman and managing director of Vauxhall Motors, leading the U.K. operation during a period of significant uncertainty and volatility. This role also included the Ireland operations and U.K. manufacturing. Prior to Vauxhall Motors, Harvey was the executive director of Opel Sales and Aftersales Europe. In this role, he was responsible for over 550,000 new vehicle sales per year and achieved two years of consecutive growth for the markets he led.
Born and raised in the U.K., Harvey began his GM career more than 30 years ago. Harvey received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Coventry University.
