David J. Adelman is the co-founder and Vice Chairman of FS Investments and serves on the board of the FS Funds.

Mr. Adelman is the CEO of Campus Apartments, a Philadelphia-founded firm that he built into a national leader in student housing development and management, with more than $2 billion in assets under management across 18 states. An active entrepreneur and investor, Mr. Adelman runs Darco Capital which has made over 50 investments in the venture capital and private equity spaces across multiple disciplines like fintech, sports & media, life sciences and consumer-facing brands. He also serves as the Lead Director for private aviation disruptor Wheels Up.

Additionally, he serves as Co-Chair for the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and Vice Chair of University City District Board of Directors, while also serving on the Penn Medicine Board of Trustees and the Board of Councilors of the USC Shoah Foundation. Mr. Adelman is a past recipient of the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award from Ernst & Young in the real estate category for Greater Philadelphia and is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable and Young Presidents’ Organization.
