Bruce Lowthers serves as President of FIS, where he is responsible for achieving the company’s growth goals across its business segments including Banking, Merchant and Capital Markets. In this role, Lowthers is focused on FIS’ transformational change program dedicated to driving innovation, speed and agility companywide.
During Lowthers' tenure with FIS, he has worked across the organization in various roles leading sales and product groups in addition to running many of our largest businesses. In his previous role as President of Banking and Merchant Solutions, he led a global business developing and delivering FIS' commerce, banking, payments and fintech offerings for financial institutions, corporations and merchant entities in global markets.
Lowthers has also served FIS in a number of executive positions, including roles as head of the company’s Integrated Financial Solutions organization, head of the Payments business, head of Product Sales and Global Sales Operations and general manager of the Global Payments Software business. He is also the former Chairman of the Board for American Transaction Processors Coalition (ATPC) and Payments 20 (P20).
Prior to joining FIS, Lowthers was senior vice president of Community Markets for eFunds, where he was responsible for the profit and loss (P&L) for all payment and risk products for that market. He also held executive officer positions at four startup companies.
In 2020, Lowthers received the Business Unit President of the Year Award at the Business Transformation and Operational Excellence Summit (BTOES). He was also named Executive of the Year in the 2019 BIG Awards for Business, and Operations Executive of the Year by the Best in Biz Awards in 2018 and 2019.
Lowthers holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts and began his career as a certified public accountant.
