At 40 years of service, Gene has the distinction of being Expeditors’ most tenured employee. Gene began his career at Expeditors in 1981 in the San Francisco office. Shortly thereafter, he was asked to move to Los Angeles to open what is now one of the company’s largest and most successful offices.
Gene is known for his dedication to working with our customers while driving tremendous value to Expeditors. He has held several different key operational roles at the branch level and moved seamlessly into Senior Management. These roles include the District Manager of Los Angeles, Regional Vice President, and later the Executive Vice President of North America, where he was responsible for the Western United States and Mexico. In all of these roles, he focused on developing people, driving operational excellence and building strong relationships with our customers.
Along with decades of experience in supply chain and logistics, Gene is also a licensed US Customs Broker. He has also hired and developed key managers within the organization, many of whom have been promoted to key roles within the company.
As President of Global Services, Gene is responsible for overseeing many aspects of the organization including; Sales, Account Management, Marketing & Communications, Network Solutions, Vertical Industries, Project & Energy Services, Risk Management and Insurance, Training & Personnel Development, and Security, Health & Safety.
Gene currently serves on the Master of Supply Chain Management Program Advisory Board in the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. Gene and his wife of over 30 years have three grown daughters. Gene enjoys attending sporting events, particularly The Giants, 49ers, The Clippers, and the occasional Mariners game with his family.
