Robert E. Segert has served as a non-employee director of our Board since January 2012. He is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of athenahealth, a leading provider of network-enabled services for hospital and ambulatory customers nationwide, after previously serving as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Virence Health.
From July 2017 to August 2018, Mr. Segert served as Executive Chairman of the Board for Aspect Software, the world’s leading enterprise cloud contact center and workforce optimization provider; and from August 2016 to July 2017, he served as Non-Executive Chairman of Aspect Software.
Formerly, Mr. Segert served as President, Chief Executive Officer and a director of Expert Global Solutions, Inc., a global leader in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry, leading the company through a significant re-positioning and successful merger with Alorica in June 2016. At the time of the merger EGS was a $1.1 billion leader in the customer relationship management services industry, with over 43,000 employees worldwide. From 2008 until its acquisition by OpenText Corp. in January 2014, Mr. Segert served as President and Chief Executive Officer, and a director of GXS Worldwide, Inc. (GXS), a leading global provider of business-to-business e-commerce and data integration services that simplify and enhance business process integration, data quality and compliance, and collaboration among businesses. Prior to joining GXS in 2008, Mr. Segert spent 10 years at Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS), a $22 billion global technology services company, in various capacities, including leader of the Global Financial Products Industry, Chief Marketing Officer, General Manager of U.S. Financial Services and Managing Director of Corporate Strategy and Planning. He has also held roles at A.T. Kearney and Frito-Lay, Inc.
Mr. Segert received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
