Ben Kortlang has served as a member of our board of directors since May 2010. He is a founding partner of G2VP, a venture capital firm focused on companies which are digitizing traditional industries such as energy, transportation, logistics, industrials and agriculture. Mr. Kortlang is also a partner in Kleiner Perkins’ Green Growth Fund where, since 2008 he has focused on investing in growth-stage sustainability companies.
Before joining KPCB, Mr. Kortlang co-led Goldman Sachs’ alternative energy investing business, managing its multi-billion-dollar portfolio of alternative energy investments, including First Solar, Horizon Wind Energy and SunEdison. During his eight year tenure at Goldman Sachs from 2000 to 2008, he also led the private equity investing business within Goldman’s special situations group and served as a vice president in Goldman’s investment banking group with a focus on industrials and natural resources. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kortlang was an associate with A.T. Kearney, a global strategy and operations management consulting firm, and was a business analyst at National Australia Bank, working in strategic planning and macroeconomic forecasting.
In addition to serving on Enphase Energy’s board of directors, Mr. Kortlang currently serves on the board of directors of Arcadia Power, Inc and Luminar Technologies, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and finance from RMIT University, a Bachelor of Commerce and an honors degree in econometrics from the University of Melbourne and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
