Quentin Clark is the managing director of General Catalyst, a venture capital company.
Prior to joining General Catalyst in 2020, Clark was the CTO at Dropbox. He played an essential role in the file hosting company’s 2018 IPO, leading the engineering, product, design, and growth teams. Clark was also integral to expanding Dropbox’s portfolio by acquiring eSignature company, HelloSign, and broadening Dropbox’s product offerings by launching the team collaboration and virtual workspace product, Dropbox Spaces.
Before joining the Dropbox team, the enterprise leader spent two years at SAP leading the growth strategy and product direction for the business software company as their CTO and CBO.
Clark was an innovation leader at Microsoft for over twenty years. He began his career with the tech giant in 1994 as a software engineer and program manager before eventually leading its complete suite of data products including SQL Server, business intelligence products, noSQL, machine learning, and cloud computing platform, Azure.
Clark presently serves on the boards of Highfive, Minio, Commure, ThoughtSpot, Kernel, eightfold.ai, and Coda and has leveraged his experience in the tech industry to invest in and advise early stage SaaS companies focused on improving the workplace in his role at General Catalyst.
Clark holds a B.S. in computer science and physics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
