Prior to joining CrowdStrike in 2012, Watzinger was the chief strategy officer and executive vice president for McAfee, where he was in charge of global strategy and development. While there, he accelerated international expansion and directed the company through multiple successful mergers and acquisitions, culminating in record revenue growth and increased market share. He also led McAfee’s $7.7 billion acquisition by Intel, one of the security industry’s largest deals.
Before McAfee, Watzinger served as CEO for multiple companies, including SafeBoot, iGate and APT International. He launched his career as a managing consultant with Capgemini, spending six years there before moving on to a senior consulting role with Price Waterhouse.
In addition to his role with CrowdStrike, Watzinger also sits on the boards of KnowBe4, Absolute Software and Mastech InfoTrellis. He previously served as board chairman of Telesign
Watzinger holds both a B.S. and M.S. in computer science from the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany.
