Lewis Steverson is executive vice president and chief legal and administrative officer. Steverson manages all legal matters for Corning and advises the CEO, the Board of Directors, and the Senior Leadership Team on all legal issues; counsels the Board of Directors on corporate governance structure; and directs all Law Department function mandates. In addition, Steverson oversees the Office of the CEO and the Corporate Functions Review. Steverson also manages Aircraft Operations and has oversight of Global Security, including Information Security and Data Privacy, and the Department of Archives and Records Management.

Most recently, Steverson was executive vice president and general counsel of Corning Incorporated. In this role, Steverson advised the Management Committee and the Board of Directors on all legal matters, was responsible for all legal issues for the company, and managed the global Law Department. Prior to joining Corning in 2013, Steverson served as senior vice president, general counsel, and corporate secretary of Motorola Solutions, Inc. (formerly known as Motorola, Inc.). Previously, he was senior vice president and general counsel of Motorola, Inc., and, during his 18 years with Motorola, held a variety of law leadership roles across the company’s numerous business units and within the corporation. Prior to Motorola, Steverson was in private practice at the law firm of Arnold & Porter.

Steverson is a member of the Colorado, Illinois, and New York State Bar Associations. He also serves as a director on the boards for the Hemlock Semiconductor Group, LLC, Siena College, and the Big Shoulders Fund. Steverson is also a member of the American Society of Corporate Secretaries and the Economic Clubs of Chicago and New York.

Steverson earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Siena College and a law degree from Harvard Law School.
