JOHN (JED) E. KENNEDY joined the Company in September 2012 as Vice President and General Manager, Visualization and Endomechanical. In March 2020, Mr. Kennedy assumed the role of Group Executive Vice President - Patient Care and Endoscopic Technologies, having previously served as Vice President and General Manager - U.S. Endoscopic Technologies since January 2015. Then, in October 2020, Jed took on the role of Group Executive Vice President - Advanced Endoscopic Technologies, QA/RA, Distribution and Customer Service.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Kennedy served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Viking Systems, Inc. from January 2010 to September 2012. Mr. Kennedy had formerly served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Viking Systems, Inc. from October 2007 to December 2009. Prior to October 2007, Mr. Kennedy was the President of the Vision Systems Group at Viking Systems, Inc. From January 1997 to September 2007, Mr. Kennedy held various executive positions with Vista Medical Technologies, Inc. Prior to joining Vista Medical Technologies, Inc., Mr. Kennedy held various positions in Manufacturing, Quality Engineering and Product Development at Smith & Nephew Endoscopy from 1984 through January 1997. Prior to 1984, he held various engineering positions at Honeywell’s Electro-Optics and Avionics divisions. Mr. Kennedy received a B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University.

In addition, it offers general surgery products, including clinical insufflation systems under AirSeal brand; smoke removal devices under Buffalo Filter brand; endomechanical products, such as tissue retrieval bags, trocars, suction irrigation devices, graspers, scissors, and dissectors used in minimally invasive surgeries; and electrosurgical solution comprising monopolar and bipolar generators, argon beam coagulation generators, handpieces, smoke management systems and other accessories. Further, the company provides endoscopic technologies, including therapeutic and diagnostic products for use in gastroenterology procedures, and products for the treatment of diseases of the dilatation, hemostasis, biliary, structure management, and infection prevention and patient monitoring, including ECG and EEG electrodes, and cardiac defibrillation pads. It markets its products directly to hospitals, surgery centers, and other healthcare institutions, as well as through medical specialty distributors. CONMED Corporation was incorporated in 1970 and is headquartered in Largo, Florida.
