Sarah “Sally” Bany is a former board member of Columbia Sportswear Co., an outdoor apparel company headquartered in Portland, Oregon.

Columbia is a family business for Bany, whose grandfather, Paul Lamfrom, founded the company in 1938. She is the daughter of Gert Boyle (Lamfrom’s daughter) who took over its leadership in 1970 after the death of her husband, Neil, who had taken the role of president after Lamfrom passed away.

Bany had served as a director since 1988, witnessing a period of great expansion and success for the company. Beginning in the mid-80s, Columbia became known for its TV advertisements highlighting product features and the family-run aspect of the business. The company went public in 1998, though the Boyle family chose to retain most of its shares.

In 2019, Bany resigned from the board after her mother’s death to take care of her estate. Her brother, Tim Boyle, is Columbia's current CEO.
