Anand Selvakesari is Citi’s Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for leading Citi’s enterprise-wide Transformation effort to strengthen the firm’s risk and controls and data, modernize infrastructure and simplify Citi’s operating model, enabling the execution of Citi’s strategic priorities. As Chief Operating Officer, he also leads Citi’s operations functions to ensure that critical firm processes operate efficiently. Anand is a member of Citi’s Executive Management Team.

Previously, Anand served as CEO of Citi’s Personal Banking and Wealth Management franchise, which encompassed the two market-leading credit cards businesses and the retail bank in the U.S., and the global wealth management business. In this role, Anand led the delivery of a single, seamless client experience across its consumer businesses and helped establish an integrated wealth management platform to serve the entire continuum of wealth clients. From 2019 to 2020, Anand served as the Head of the U.S. Consumer Bank, leading the digital transformation and drove significant growth in cards, deposits, loans, mobile users and Citigold clients. From 2015 to 2018, Anand was Head of Consumer Banking for Asia Pacific, with responsibility for consumer and commercial banking across 17 markets in Asia and EMEA. He led the transformation of the business to be client-centric and digital-led while delivering strong growth during that period.

Anand also held a number of regional and country roles, including Head of Consumer Banking for ASEAN and India, leading consumer banking in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, as well as India. In 2011, he became the Head of Consumer Banking in India, where he transformed and restructured the business and re-defined consumer banking in the country. From 2008 to 2011, Anand served as Head of Consumer Banking in China. He served as Head of Retail Banking in Taiwan from 2004 to 2006 and spent eight years in in Singapore, where he held various regional roles in investments, wealth management and retail banking.

Anand began his career with Citi in India in 1991 and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree and an M.B.A. in finance and marketing.
