Ms. Markus is the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Bank of the West, a role she held from 2010 through 2014. She is also a former member of the Board of Directors of Bank of the West and BancWest Corporation, and the Bank’s Executive Management Committee. Before joining Bank of the West, Ms. Markus was a 22-year veteran of Citigroup, having most recently served as Head of International Retail Banking in Citibank’s Global Consumer Group. She held a number of additional domestic and international management positions including President, Citibank North America from 2000 to 2007. In this position, she also served as Chairman of Citibank West. Ms. Markus also served as Citibank’s European Sales and Marketing Director in Brussels, Belgium, and as President of Citibank’s consumer business in Greece. Ms. Markus is a former member of The Financial Services Roundtable. She is a member of Year Up Bay Area’s Talent and Opportunity Board and is a trustee for the College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York.
