Jerry Plush is a senior financial services executive, well-known in the industry as a key strategic and operations leader, with over 35 years of experience. He currently serves as Vice Chairman, President and CEO of Amerant Bancorp, Inc. He has served on the Board of Directors of Amerant since July 2019. From 2019 to 2021, Jerry served as a partner with Patriot Financial Partners, L.P., a private equity firm based in Radnor, PA. Prior to Webster Bank, he worked at MBNA America, most recently as Senior Executive Vice President and Managing Director for corporate development and acquisitions, where he also previously served in a number of senior roles, including as CFO of North America. Jerry was recognized at MBNA for his corporate development work and acquiring credit card and other portfolios during a period of rapid growth and change. He was a member of the executive leadership team which transformed the mono-line card issuer into a multi-national financial services provider with multiple product lines.
Jerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He is a certified public accountant and a certified management accountant and is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). He is a NACD Board Leadership Fellow and holds the CERT certificate in Cybersecurity Oversight.
He has been active in several well-known philanthropic organizations, including serving on the board of trustees of the Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network, as chairman of Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, as the founder and event chair of the Children’s Charity Invitational, on the Board of Overseers for WGBH in Boston and on the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Southeastern Pennsylvania. He was recently elected to the board of directors of United Way of Miami-Dade.
