He has nearly 40 years of experience in the securities and investment industry and is a member of The Swarthmore Group’s Executive Committee. Mr. Nevels was appointed by the President of the United States to the Advisory Committee to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and served as Chairman from 2005 until 2007. In December 2001, Mr. Nevels was appointed by the Governor of Pennsylvania as Chairman of the Philadelphia School Reform Commission and served through September 2007, overseeing the turnaround of the Philadelphia School System, then the ninth largest school district in the United States. In addition, Mr. Nevels served as a member of the Board of The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia from 2010 to 2015 and served as Chair of the Board from 2014 through 2015.

The company was formerly known as Alcoa Upstream Corporation and changed its name to Alcoa Corporation in October 2016. The company was founded in 1886 and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
